Mount Kinabalu (Gunung Kinabalu) is the most dramatic feature in Sabah and the tallest peak between the Himalayas & the New Guinea. Towering at 4,095 metres (13,435 feet), Mount Kinabalu exerts a magical quality that is both indescribable and unbelievable. The granite peaks are constantly veiled in wisps of clouds and at times during a clear day, the summit reveals a distinct glacier carved pinnacles, rising from the smooth granite dome. It is one of the safest and most conquerable peaks in the world—provided that you’re reasonably healthy and physically fit.
Mount Kinabalu, along with other upland areas of the Crocker Range, is well-known worldwide for its tremendous botanical and biological species biodiversity with plants of Himalayan, Australasian, and Indo-Malayan origin.

Take a scenic 2 hours’ drive to Kinabalu Park passing by villages and paddy fields along mountainous roads that wind along the Crocker range. Along the way, make a brief stop at Nabalu Market. Nabalu is a place where the local natives gather to sell local produce, fruits, home grown vegetables and handicraft souvenirs. It is also here where you can get lucky to capture unforgettable moments of Mount Kinabalu stunning views.

- 16 Years old and above : One mountain guide is allowed to take maximum of five (5) climbers. Additional Mt Guide @ RM230 p/guide
- 15 Years old and below : One mountain guide is allowed to take maximum of two (2) climbers. Additional Mt Guide @ RM230 p/guide
This means, adults & children will have separate Mt Guides. Eg: 2 Adults + 2 Children OR 2 Adults + 1 Child OR 1 Adult + 1 Child
- will require 2 separate mountain guides - Child rate is 85% of Adult’s rate and is applicable for 11 years and below (accompanied by 2 adults). However, an additional cost of RM 243.80 for a separate MT Guide (compulsory for climbers 15 years old and below) will be required. Parents or guardians will have to sign a liability forms for their accompanied children
- In compliance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA), SSL requires all guests to produce their identity cards or valid passports upon check-in. Non-Malaysian nationalities must produce their valid international passports upon check-in.
- To facilitate a smoother check-in process, please provide us copy of your identity cards or valid passports at least 7 working days prior to arrival. The original documents will be required to be presented at the registration desk for verification purposes against the data in our system.
Things You Should Prepare For Mountain Climb:
Waterproof backpack to store your items, Trekking or running shoe with good grip, arm clothing/Long sleeves shirt/Hiking pants , Jacket/Wind breaker, Extra clothing and socks, Small towel , Hand gloves and winter hat, Disposable raincoats, Head torch, Personal toiletries, Refillable water bottle (0.5 - 1 Litre), High energy food such as chocolates, nuts, biscuits, sweets, energy bars, Your extra luggage can be stored at Kinabalu Park HQ at a nominal fee of MYR 10-12 per piece prior climb.
