Layang Layang Island is an oceanic atoll and an exotic island situated in the middle of South China Sea approximately 300 km northwest of Kota Kinabalu in Sabah, Malaysia. It is truly diver’s paradise and fondly known as “The Jewel of the Borneo Banks”. Layang Layang island lies in 2,000m of ocean and due partly to the depth, this atoll has become famous for sightings of large pelagic species and for wall diving. It is an hour flight north of Sabah’s capital Kota Kinabalu.
